Although this popular Iphone and Android app is not a new release, Snapchat, is taking storm on everyone's smartphone device. Snapchat is a photo messaging application released in 2011 where users can take pictures, record videos, add text and drawings, and then send them to their friends who also have a Snapchat account. Snapchat allows users to set a time limit for how long their recipients can view their photos/videos (max is 10 seconds), and after the viewing time has elapsed, the photo/video is completely deleted and erased from the recipients device.
This application has gained much publicity in recent months, and is only going to gain more. The term "Snapchatting" is becoming acceptable in everyday conversation. People are "snapchatting" on-the-go, in class, at work, etc. It has become an easy way to "beep" someone and give them a short glimpse of what they're doing or just to say "hey."
So the question is - Are you Snapchatting?
I have to admit I have jumped on the snapchatting craze as well. Sometimes it is easier to express yourself or explain something through pictures rather than words. This is exactly what snap chat enables you to do. I enjoy getting random pictures or videos from my friends throughout the day. You never know what you're gonna get.
ReplyDeleteI definitely have been using Snapchat for the past month or so, and I love it! It's another way to communicate with my friends, family, etc. through a more casual means. In a bigger picture, Snapchatting has made me realize that, once again, it is so vital for people to constantly connect to other people, and that's why this form of social media has popularized so quickly today. Also, since people have become much more video-and picture-oriented, they are beginning to read less and less, and rely more and more on videos and pictures to receive and send information. It's clear that Snapchat supports this new trend. Thanks for your post!
